***THIS IS NOT A "FOR SALE" AD***

Not sure if this is in the right section or even of it's "highroad".

I have a really old Rhino horn that was given to me about 20 years ago. I know for the most part it is illegal to sell, I'm just wondering if there is anyway to sell it legally? I really have no use for it, it just sits in a box in my basement. I obviously don't want to break the law and would rather see it go to someone who would enjoy it more than me. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Adam

Nope, can't use it for knife scales since it's keratin (fingernail/hair material). You might slab it out and stabilize it and use it for interframe inserts.

Other than asian medicine applications for ground rhino horn I can't think of anything else.

I figured as much. I'd hate to cut it up because it is quite beautiful. I was hoping I could send it to a home where it would be much more appreciated.

I'd suggest contacting a reputable auction house like the folks at Rock Island and asking their advice. An old horn dating as far back as 1947 should be sellable from what I can read, but the folks at RI will certainly know.

i wouldnt even want to make profit from it.

It´s a symbol of the great catastrophy that
happened to that species.
Jewish term for it starts with a "h"

It´s history. Keep it. Treat it like that.

working in into something hedonistic
is plain wrong in my world.

It´s an opinion.
Accord to the law .....

But there might be other reasonings if u want "our" kids
to see living rhinos. In their lives.

By connectin monetary interaction the market for this
is being kept alive. Just dont.

Kept it´s history. Sold it´s just a piece of crap.

Mp7... the guy inherited it, or got it as a gift... He didn't go kill the rhino it came off... Lighten up man.

It is very cool to have and I'm honored to have it. Unfortunatley, I have medical bills that are more important than the "cool" or "historic" factor it may hold. It does hole sentimental value, but i really need the funds.
