I can't seem to find a weight stat on RIA's little baby 1911 .45, the "CS" model, which says it has a "6rd capacity, 3 1/4 hard chrome barrel".

I would assume that with the new thin grips out there, it'd be slightly less than an inch in slide width, but any idea of the weight of those?

Pretty damn heavy. I held one at a shop a week ago. Very nice pistol, really took me by surprise. But I would not consider it for pocket carry. I didn't strip it down, but from the exterior it really seemed to be a quality piece. No rattle, even finish, usable sights, decent trigger. A very nice buy for $350.

Well, I did find a weight quote for it...2.16lbs with no rounds in it.

A shame...now all they have to do is make an aluminum one in that size. :D

I've the Kimber Ultra Carry which is a tad smaller in the barrel and has an aluminum frame. IMHO its still too large and heavy for my pockets, especially when loaded -- 7 rounds of .45ACP is about 4 oz.

I also have the Charles Daly CS which like the RIA is made by Armscor, but has better sights, a beavertail grip safety, and skelatin hammer. Trigger is darn near as good as on the Kimber. Great gun for the money.
