Now I understand why everyone considers the 38 Super a tack driver. I loaded up the brass I received with 124 gr bullets & 700-x powder, I chronographed the load at 1150 fps wifh a SD of 9.1. So I loaded up 200 rds & took them to the range.

First off, I have to say I shot all 200 rds. & enjoyed the experience for the first time in long time. I would have never been able to perform like that shooting a 45. The felt recoil was very mild & I didn't feel as if I had to "fight" the gun as I had in the past. The only problem I found was that the 9+1 capacity meant I went thru a lot of ammo in a hurry. It took me some time to get use to the GI sights, but once I got the range & figured out the gun's POA, my best round count was 7 rounds in the X ring w/3 flyers in the 9. Toward the end of the sesson, I was feeling like the gun was almost an extension of my hand, putting shots wherever I wanted them to go. The only reason I quit shooting was I ran out of ammo. Now, if I can solve my problem of leaving the range with less brass than I brought.

I was also impressed by the Rock's performance. I had only one failure to feed & one failure to go into battery, both of which I think were caused by my ammo. The trigger has a little creep in it, but nothing really bothersome. The gun went "Bang" everytime & ejected the brass about 3' from where I was shooting. (The brass was "grouped" almost in one place, making it easier to pickup,) I'm going to wait until I have my round count to over 700 before I decide to use it as a carry gun, but if it continues to perform as it did yesterday, I will be carrying my Rock at my side constantly in the near future.

Nice going on the range...There is always that satisfaction when everything goes well; especially when it goes "bang" each & every time....Hell, I even look forward into cleaning when I get home...
How about pic sometime...Not sure what your pistol looks like...:)
