This week I test fired my KNIGHT TBOLT 50cal rifle and first one out was using the 45ca hp in green sabot. Now after reading the calibers is show the outside measurement of .504 and that would explains why it was so difficult to load in the rifel. For a while i really thought I might to use a hammer do drive the load down the barrel. While using .490 round ball with .010 lubed patch they went in snug and fired like it designed to do.The Sabot's are GREEN do they make smaller sized for these. :banghead:

nope nope nope

its a double standard

the .504 is ok. its the 45 your using. you almost need to match the sabot to the bullet. when you put in a .45 bullet it widens the sabot. making it harder to load. some sabots are like this. dont remember the site but there are different size sabots you can get. in all though i still have a whole bunch of sabots but i stopped shooting them. if you cast bullets the way to go in an inline is with the lee R.E.A.L bullet after casting put some lube on the bullet and load it without a patch or anything. AS you load the bullet it engages the rifling when you shoot it the sides expand to engage the grooving even more. accuracy is pretty good too.
a lot easier to load

Thanks for the info, the rounds and sabots came together in a package that's more or less why I thought it was "Just the right ticket". I did look today at Knight's web site and they list two different sabot's one is High Pressure and the other is called EZ load which lead me to think the thickness of sabot was different. But every time I think I get in trouble!! When it comes to the In-line I have a lot to learn.

MMP sabots makes a 3petal-EZ sabot which is their easiest loading sabot.

There's also Power Belt plastic skirted bullets for really tight bores that come in different styles:

Harvester makes crushed ribbed sabots that are said to reduce loading friction by up to 50%:
