Seems it may be time for a road trip!

I'll be traveling through Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama. I have Concealed carry permits from Utah and Florida, but that's not really my question. I would really like to carry a long gun in Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama, and possibly Florida. So, what are long gun rules along the way?

In Alabama there are no laws that specifically prohibit carrying a long gun in a vehicle. You can not carry a long gun concealed on your person.

No problems in Arkansas. Keep unloaded and ammo somewhere else in the vehicle. (Being a big waterfowl destination, We'd lose a good portion of our economy if the cops started hassling out of state vehicles for long gun carry.)

Now though a bunch of evil black rifles with green cans full of ammo may require some explaining if you have an out of state tag.

Sheesh!

I am aware of Arkansas laws. I can carry a long gun loaded in the vehicle in the passenger compartment right next to me.

Thanks Reb, your reply is what I was looking for.

Now about the other states...
