No reason given, no suggestion that he has said anything, no evidence of any kind for the assertion.

Any justice may step down at any time... So in that sense, it's certainly true.

However this site seems to be driven by the number of Google hits on the names of famous people. I'm sure that "Chief Justice Roberts" surprised them a little, since they're used to "Tiger Woods" and "Kate Gosselin". Sounds like they had to make something up, and quickly.
