Background of the story....
When I closed my gun shop down in 2009 I had a number of AR15 lowers in inventory that I transferred to my personal collection. I also had quite a few barrels for AR-15's. I'm finally getting around to finishing them in to rifles for my kids....
Three of the barrels are mid-length HBAR fluted with rifle cut ramps on the barrel extension. Two of the barrels I want to use are mid-length HBAR non-fluted, also without an M4 extension.
I *wanted* to buy M3 flattop uppers (the ones *without* M4 feed ramps), for those three barrels.
I called and talked to Rock River, as I heard they sell true M3 uppers without the M4 feed ramps. The lady I spoke with said that all of their uppers are rifle.
Now... I'm starting to think she didn't understand what I was talking about when I brought up the two different feed ramp types.
Because all 5 of the uppers I ordered arrived today, and they *do* have M4 feed ramps.
I don't want to mess around and cut the barrel ramps, it's impossible to get it to spec due to the geometry and different angles involved.
So... is there any material that I could use to FILL the receiver cuts on the uppers?
Or should I just sell these things and keep looking?
