Yes I know I should go over to AK47.net but am not approved yet over there to post.

Ok, I had a friend more mechanically-inclined than I install the RSA adjustable trigger in my .223 SAR, since I was going to have to replace the hammer anyway. Everything went fine until he went to install the safety (selector) lever.

There is a tab on the rear of the safety lever that, when the safety lever is pushed down into normal position, catches on the twisted-wire spring that goes around the rear of the FCG. My friend says that originally, with the Century parts installed, it didn't lay in this position and thus was not affected by the safety lever. He says the RSA FCG is shaped and sized very differently and that he can't get the adjusments on the trigger to improve it.

The RSA instructions gleefully tell me to either file off some of the safety or to file on their brand new parts.

What the --ll?

Not only am I really irritated that this little project was much more difficult than people on the Net proclaim, but I am astonished that I cannot now re-install my safety because of the oh-so-wonderful adjustable trigger.

So should I just file off the little tab that presses down on the wire? It looks like it was put there for a reason. Later today I'm gonna fire the gun to make sure the new trigger is working properly, as per the RSA instructions, but ... anybody know where I can get a new safety lever if I screw this up?
