Hello, this is my first post here on the forum. I've acquired a Rossi double barrel 12ga. It is NOT marked with the "Overland" name on the barrel. The only markings are "Amadeo Rossi S.A. Sao Leopoldo P.E." "The Garcia Corp. Wash. D.C." and "Made In Brazil". It is marked "12Ga. 3" M" and "12Ga. 3" F" on the bottom of the right and left barrels near the breech. It's in 95%+ condition, a little deep cleaning would probably get it closer to 100%. It had a few surface rust spots on the barrels that I believe will come out with no damage to the bluing. It locks up as tight as a single piece, no slop at all. It has the Greener style crossbolt in the lock. I've been told it was shot about 3 times and then hung on the wall for 30 years. It was bought new in the late 70s.
My questions for anyone that knows are:
1. What model would this be? Would it be considered an Overland model for parts purposes? I've found on the internet that the early models were not marked "Overland", but are they the exact same gun?
2. How are these guns in general? The quality appears excellent, do they have any weak points?
3. Are replacement parts available if I should ever need a spring, firing pin, etc? I know they no longer make these guns, but with the Cowboy Action crowd using them, I would think someone would offer basic service parts.
4. Would I be correct to assume that the "F" and "M" on the bottom of the barrels means Full and Modified choke?
5. What kind of value would be realistic for this, just for informational purposes?
Thanks in advance for the help. -Drew
