My first post on the shotgun board! I have a Rossi s/s double 20ga, with 27 1/4" barrels, dbl triggers, hammers, extractors, engraved and silver washed reciever. It is marked "Amadeo Rossi Leopoldo R.G Sul "on the rib, "Made in Brazil" on the left barrel. The right barrel is marked "Barcia Sporting Arms, Wash D.C.

Any idea of the age and value of this arm is? I am logging all of my collection for insurence and have no idea what this one is worth! I paid $250 for it several years ago.

I imagine that it says Garcia. Let me find the details of the D.C. address, since Garcia was in Teaneck, NJ.

Okay, here it is.

"A: Garcia Sporting Arms Corp. in Teaneck, New Jersey, absorbed Firearms International Corp. (importer of Rossi firearms at the time) of Washington, D.C., in 1971 or '72. Garcia became the importer of Rossi firearms and conducted business from the Washington, D.C., address until 1977."

I haven't found that model yet, but it's much nicer than any of the Rossis I've seen. Not that I've looked at all that many over the years, but still, it's a nice looking shotgun.

You can see the family resemblance to the Overland (also: Overlund) model as well as the $379 it went for.

If you looked at the pics I think you'd agree yours must be worth twice that much, give or take some. Interesting gun, somebody must know about it.

John

P.S. - I ran across a post somewhere in my looking that said the plain Overland model sold for $90 in 1972.

Thanks for the info John. I get a lot of looks at the skeet range, till the snobs find out it's a Rossi! It,s a reall dove getter, swings smooth and fits me right.

They are good guns with somewhat of a following it seems. I have various Spanish handguns imported by Garcia.
