Rossi Mod. RG3030 questions

My neighbor just bought a new Rossi Mod. RG3030 Rio Grande stainless steel lever action .30-30 for his young son who is a brand new hunter. He bought it with the scope base attached and it did not include the filler screws or manual. This rifle looks to me like a copy of a Marlin. A few questions...

Is it an exact copy of a Marlin, and if so, which one?

He wants to add an aperture rear sight. If this rifle is basically a Marlin 189x, will it accept the same aftermarket receiver sights via receiver screw hole spacing as the applicable Marlin?

Front sight is dovetailed to the barrel. Anybody know if the XS post sights will fit this dovetail?

Marlinesque. Nice to see someone buying their son a lever gun in 30-30 to get him started!

Not to worry, Skinner sights do aperture and front sights specifically for this model. They are excellent sights and the folks at Skinner are super helpful.

They have a peep sight in stainless to match the rifle finish.
