My wife caught me looking at a .357 Rossi Ranch Hand the other day at GM and surprised me with one today for our upcoming anniversary. Nice piece and certainly different.....we collect firearms so this'll fit into the collection quite well.

Now you need a holster:

Fun gun.
Very mild shooting with 38 Special.
With a little practice you can get quite good with it at about ten yards shooting from the hip.

Now you have to get the "Wanted Dead or Alive" tv series.:)

One caution.
Don't shoot the gun with the side of butt stock against your cheek. It is a steady aimed firing position.
Trouble is it doesn't feel like the side of the stock is hitting your cheek but the next morning the side of my face was badly brused.

I have the Henry 22LR also. Fun, inexpensive shooting.

1) You have a great wife with a keen eye for observation and great taste in gift giving.
2) You have to get that fantastic looking holster Mainsail posted for it.
3) You have to let us know how it shoots!

A friend got one in 44 mag and added a regular stock with the appropriate ATF paper work and tax stamp for short rifle. The piece is blast to shoot with 44 specials & mags.. Though the mags really produce a muzzle blast.. LOL

Be safe

45 Long Colt

I got one in 45 LC since that is my SASS round and its a hoot to shoot.

I have put a few hundred rounds through it and its pleasant.

Truly wish my nanny state allowed the full stock to be used as that would be my choice for deer hunting.

Yes,I can hunt with it as is,but a full stock would be much more accurate.

i was really torn between the .45LC (ammo expensive....even the reloading components), .44 Mag (already have 2 S/Blackhawks, Taurus Tracker, and Contender) so the .357 kind of stuck in my hands....she said it was a given once I told her it fired her ammo (S&W 360). I told her I'd think about it a bit and she picked it up later that day while "grocery" shopping.

Pics Friday when I take it back out of the safe. Yes, she is something and thank you for acknowledging that fact,,,,she's suprised me more than once over the years!

I've GOT to have that holster......where??? Please!

Mares Leg Holster

You can pick up one of those holsters from Cochise Leather in AZ. I have one and they are ok for my Case Hardened 45LC Mares Leg. Not Cheap. I have took this hand gun completely apart and polished every part and installed a magic spring in it with the safety removal plug installed and the follower replaced with a metal one from Steve's Gunz. This baby will cycle bullet's like crazy.

Nice gun indeed--I have been thinking about one myself (been in an historical Western-like mood of late).
