Rossi replacement parts policy

While recently maintaining my Rossi 92 bought in July 2023 I misplaced a carrier screw. I wound up finding it but reached out to Rossi in the interm to buy 1 or 2 replacements. I was told theses parts are "restricted" for purchase and I would have to send my rifle back to Rossi for a $50 bench fee to have the screw installed.
This same screw on my Alaskan Takedown by Chiappa/Taylor's is available to be bought on their website and I've read countless examples of Henry sending similar parts out no charge to their customers.

I wasn't looking for anything I wasn't willing to pay for. Is this policy in effect with any other companies? Really makes me second guess any future Rossi purchases.

Henry, made in USA. Rossi, made in Brazil. Maybe they order screws from Brazil. Or maybe buy American. Even construction equipment has small parts listed as NSS. I've had three R92's and wouldn't be happy myself if I fumbled around when sticking them up and lost a screw. Now when you send it in and have modified anything they would send it back saying they won't work on a modified weapon.

The Rossi screws are metric, of course, but also weird metric sizes, and difficult to measure the pitch when they are so short. About the only one that is sort-of standard is the band screw, which is M3.5, the same as electrical faceplate screws.
