Very recently as in the past few days I purchased a new 20rd pmag, and noticed the bolt catch sometimes would not lock back if I put in the new mag (gently or quickly) and worked the ch handle. I tried this wih a brand new gen2 pmag and it did the same thing! So I took pictures of what was going on gubavara.jpg hemy8asa.jpg

This has never happened at the range, and I've never noticed it before until now. As you can see in the second photo, the bolt caught on the follower before, and when I reinserted a mag minus the upper, I watched the follower catch the bolt release, but then slip off!

I'm thinking this is a bolt catch issue, but this is a relatively new RRA nm lower, and I've never dry fired minus the upper or bcg.
What could've caused this?

20 round pmags are known for this issue. I'd run NHMTGs for serious use if you like 20s. The pmag will still run your gun just fine other than lockback.

Thanks, that eases my mind a little but I noticed a new windowed 30rd pmag I purchased at around the same time gives me the same issues.
I tried all my serious mags, and I CANNOT reproduce the problem..
Is... It possible I got a bad pmag? They're like the holy grail of mags, no? Do I call them to see what's up? I'm not expecting any free crap but I'm sure they'd like to know that some 30rd mags are doing this where the gen2 mags weren't.

I called PMAG and wrote them an email. Will let you know how their customer service is.
