Any info on these? Other than the obvious: It takes AK mags in 7.62x39.

It's kinda ugly, but form over function, right? It places the mag release close to the index finger *bonus*.

Is the place where the mag rocks in reinforced with steel?

This seems like a good setup for an Osprey 416FZ kit... unless the Osprey bolt carrier would have to be clearanced for AK mags.

*Edit* It is now up on RRA's website. 1-10 twist, chrome lined barrel, DI gas system.
MSRP $1200 for the basic and $1500 for the ridiculous model (c'mon, rails on the bottom of the stock?)

ARs that fire 7.62x39 use a different carrier? I thought they only needed a different bolt? Either way i had no idea such a lower existed. I just wish they sold the lowers seperately as i'd prefer to build my own. One that takes 5.45 mags would be cool too. I like the piston idea as com bloc ammo tends to be dirtier.

-No, AR15's in 7.62x39 use the same carrier, different bolt.

-The LAR47 uses a proprietary upper & lower (wider for clearing AK mags)

-My bad, I was jumping to assumptions when I figured it uses a specially clearanced bolt and/or bolt carrier. It might.
