Maybe I should post this in the legal section - sorry mods if I'm incorrectly posting here.
Question: if you fit a stock to a Ruger MK 'X' .22 pistol it's (correct me if I'm way off here) now a SBR. But what if the original receiver at the same diameter were lengthened rearwards by 'XY' inches until it touched the shoulder ... does that turn it into a SBR? Is there a maximum length that a pistol can be and if so why? Asking because I have a new 22/45 upper left over after fitting a Pac Lite upper and thought it might make an interesting project.
