So I decided to go ahead and buy another AR before the craziness starts after the election and I have to say, for a 700 dollar rifle it is amazing. It comes with a unique front post and what appears to be a magpul flip up rear that has the ruger logo on it, nothing fancy but it works. It also has a nice pistol grip, not a standard A2. Forward assist, dust cover and standard A2 handguards. In the box is a PMAG which is a nice touch.

I put 300 rounds through it with no problems. Good accuracy, the trigger is crap but nothing any G.I wouldnt be used to. It is a basic AR, cheap and has everything you will need.

I don't like a lot on my AR's, all I usually add is an aimpoint. For a cheap rifle you simply can't beat this thing. I would highly recommend it!

I got one a few months ago, and I've been very pleased with it too. I haven't shot it enough to see if the trigger will smooth out, but it's ok and can be replaced if I want to.

I put a Nikon P-223 scope on it with a Burris PEPR quick attach mount, and it's a good combination.

Not a big AR guy, but I like my AR-556 for what it is: a no-frills, basic black rifle for blasting away at targets. Good enough.
