Shooting the Bisley w John Linebaugh
John sure is a walking talking Encyclopedia of ballistics isn't he?
I have a very good friend who is a Saddle maker in Cody, WY. He made the holster in the photos. John lives just to the north of Cody a few miles. For his privacy I will simply say that I met him near his home and we left my truck and trailer full of horses at the school while we went to a nearby canyon he takes a lot of of folks to. I blew through two cases of high powered and mild loads in his personal gun. I tried to pay John for the ammo but he refused. I was so impressed I bought two Stainless Bisley's back in Cody at the gun shop next door to my Saddle maker and then shipped them to John.
A year later I was standing on the corner of Sheridan Ave in Cody and this guy pulls up and yells out of his truck, "Hey mister wanna buy some guns"! It was John!
John's son Dustin has rejoined the family business and production improved. Dustin made the grips on both guns. We took the newly completed guns to the Cody range and had ourselves some serious fun. These are magnificent revolvers!
The guy who custom made my knife also turned out to be from Cody, so we all headed over to the Proud Cut Saloon has had some steaks before heading over to the saddle shop where these guys were together for the first time despite living only a few minutes apart!
