I'm looking at the convertible Blackhawk with .45 ACP and .45 Colt cylinders. Are there any compromises in the gun because of the convertibility? Are they still Ruger-stout with decent triggers and all?

I have one and it's a good gun. The 45LC and 45acp are both reliable with the POI a bit different. Makes the adjustable sight necessary. I've got it dialed in so that I just count the clicks on the windage and elevation. Load up to a predictable POA/POI.

If the weight is comfortable then I'd get it. Only one word of warning...... If you want to tame a dragon,,,, Thy the Buffalo Bore 325gn loads in 45LC. HOLD ON TIGHT!! :what:

Nope. Unlike the .357/9mm convertibles, the .45's utilize the same diameter bullets. That is, .451" jacketed and .452" cast.

Strong enough for "Ruger only" loads but don't expect a wonderful trigger.

My 4 5/8".45 Convertible is my favorite single action. Also mine has a very good trigger.:)
