I have a Ruger Blackhawk .357 (the 50th Anniversary model). With both factory ammunition and handloads of shorter OAL, the rims of the cases sometimes cause the cylinder to become stuck. The same rounds spin through my GP100 with no problem. Is there an obvious diagnosis here? Is the action likely to loosen up over time? Does the gun need to go back to Ruger?

FWIW, I also have the 50 Anniv. in 44 magnum. That gun has none of these problems. Thanks.

Headspace problem . will probably have to go back , give em a call & see if they`ll send a pick up box with ins .

I`m sure on the Ruger Forum.com or net somewhere there`s some numbers to measure but in the end I`m purty sure it has to go back.

Hold the cyl to the rear with a case under the hammer ya should have .010 clearance.

Was this used for 38 special shooting?

It will build up a ring in the cylinder chambers that needs to be cleaned so that the 357 cases can be seated properly.

I cleaned the cylinders after shooting the first 75 or so rounds. The rims seem to be flush and I get that nice "clink" sound when I just drop the cases into the cylinder. Odd.
