Part II of my flea market adventure. There were 3 different Ruger Blackhawks from the same seller.

A blued .357 for $525
A stainless .357 for $625
A blued .45LC with a red dot sight for $650

I really like how solidly they're made, and single action only is cool. I mean, cowboys, the west, it harkens back to an earlier time.

Are those priced fairly?

I thought they were used, although they did have boxes. I like the idea of a .45lc, it's large and traditional, but .357 is capable of shooting two different rounds. But what would you use a single action .357 for? I couldn't imagine it being able to take anything bigger than deer. I'd imagine that .45LC is a better hunting round with the right ammo. Just my guess.

Ruger Blackhawks are good guns. I have a Super BH .44 Magnum, it will handle and load I'd throw at it.

Those are not good prices even if they are brand spanking new.
At least not here.

Blued Ruger Blackhawks at LGS here are $479. Not sure about the stainless.

Those seem high. Blackhawks aren't hard to find...if it were me I'd wait for a better deal.

But...everyone has a different wallet...and some would gladly pay to have it today rather than to fool with shopping for a few more months just to save a few bucks. I get it either way.

I love my RBH.

I think I'll pass given how over-priced they are. I did see a nice 4" nickel plated S&W model 13 for $550 from the same seller though. I'm seriously, seriously considering it. The seller said he was willing to come down "a little bit". If I decide to get it, I'll try and talk him down some.

I've started a thread about that gun.

I'd like to know what a fair price on that is so I have some perspective. I've seen pricing around that much a few years ago, but I don't know what the going rate is now.

Unfortunately, that's about the going rate in my area. It is about $50-75 more than it was a year ago

I literally just bought a Stainless New Model Blackhawk w/ white grips today for $500. It came stock in .45 Colt and also came with a .45 ACP Cylinder for that price. So I'd say for used those are a little high if there is nothing special about them.

You can't go wrong with a Ruger, they are good quality, but their customer service are the stories of legend. The prices do seem a bit steep, I recently paid $350 for a blued 7 1/2" BH on GB, the gun was sold as used, but I sure couldn't tell it had been fired. Bought and fitted an acp cylinder for it so I can shoot either as I load for both. If you reload the 45 colt can be loaded from mild to wild and the upper ranges of Ruger only loads are equal to the 44Mag in performance.

They're all high, unless the blued .357 is a flat-top (`55-`62), or if the .45 was an Old Model (`71-`73).
