Is there any Ruger hand gun that anyone carries for concealment? I was thinking of the P93.... Any input on this would be appreciated. Thanks! drf

P95 & P944. They carry well in a Don Hume H715M IWB holster (leather0, $26.95 @ DonHumeLeather . They also make a nylon model (also 715) that rides a little lower for better concealibility and weather resistance for about $10 less.

Also, an Uncle Mikes IWB also works well for about $10-$15 at gun shops.Uncle Mikes . The uncle mikes have to be replaced periodically (every year or so, depending on frequency of wear and conditions). The Don Hume nylon appears substantially more durable.

Don't do it.

Hi-

I carry a P95 and it sucks. The piece itself is awesome, but Ruger cannot seem to make anything less than a 50-pound gorilla of a gun.

I'm jealous of these people who carry Kahrs and baby Glocks and talk about not noticing it on their hips after a day. With my P95, I know it's there ALL THE TIME. I can't sit in my car or at my desk without back paiin, I have to cover it with layers...

Don't do it. Get a Ruger because they're built like tanks and won't ever fail you. In fact, buy mine. I want something smaller! But don't get one for concealed carry.

Opinions are like you know what, but here is mine!!! I carry a P95 every day all day. It is barely noticable with the right gear. I have the benefit of livining in the far north of California, on the coast where it is usually cool enough to wear a light jacket, so my holster options are vast. My P95 is super super reliable, and it only weighs 27oz, so it is as light as a G19, or the like. sometimes it gets warm enough that the jacket isn't a good idea, so I have a HIGH quality fanny pack, and it works great. In my opinion, there are many guns that are reliable, but none that are more reliable than a Ruger, and pulling the trigger and having a round going down range every time is the primary reason to carry CCW. You won't be disapointed, but as with any weapon, carrying it regularly does require thought, and prior planning. It is not a Beretta Jetfire 25acp (I have one of those too, but I don't carry of it) that you can throgh in your poscket abd go, but it is very concealable, and extraordinarlily reliable, and quite accurate. Go Ruger, you wont regret it. Check out www.rugerforum.com if you have more questions about Ruger.

Save your money and get a Kahr PM9. Then get a Fist ultra thin IWB holster.
Now you can carry all day and hardly know!

You welcome

Agreed Brigrat ..... My p95 (well, mostly now my P97) .... sit pretty happily. Either 4.30 strong side Fobus or Bianchi sho rig.

True .. I DO know it's there .. but that is no prob .... it is reassuring, reminds me to be thoughtful with concealment issues and .... it's plenty to get hold of in a hurry.

Sure, not the ideal for some but .. I am aware of many guys who carry one..... tho for me not a summer carry.

For that .. well ... a SP 101 will serve well .. and many find this ideal for all year round carry too. I have that on right now actually ...... it's enough for about the house stuff and a tad less cumbersome.

Bottom line for me is .... comfort is not everything ...... it is a compromize between that and having the confidence in what I DO carry ..... there's a trade off ... and as ever ..... it's a case of ''what works for you''.:)

I carry a Glock 26 in a Kydex and I know it's there, so there's a fallacy in thinking smaller handguns = no notice, but I'm never uncomfortable with it. If someone has problems carrying any firearm concealed, he's doing wrong somehow. Either the wrong firearm for the lifestyle or the wrong gear to tote it around.

In addition to the Glock, I've carried a full size 1911, a snubbie .38, and a Ruger P95. Never had a problem with any of them. But I also have a different gear setup/carry style for each firearm because each one fits differently on my bod and requires a specific rig set up to make it more comfortable.

You should never be uncomfortable carrying. With the right rig, I'd bet you won't notice a Ruger. Of course, it's like trying new food; if you've already made up your mind that it won't work, you'll probably find something wrong with every option you try.

I used to carry my P-97 quite a bit. A good belt (DeSantis) and a good holster (Kytac Braveheart IWB) combined with sensible wardrobe and it`s no problem at all. Ruger`s *look* chunkier than they are. Measure a bunch of guns vs. the Rugers with a dial calipers and you`ll be really suprised! Marcus

I agree with ImJustRick. The P95, indeed all Rugers are rugged, reliable firearms. However, they were not designed for easy concealment. The late Mr. Ruger did not think that ordinary Goyim "needed" to carry a concealed weapon!! Hence, the "hugeness" of the "compact" P95!!!

The Rugers can be carried concealed, but it's a (insert vulger term for a female dog here) to do so!!!!!
