I just picked this one up. It even has the original box. How common are these? I had never seen one in person until today. I'm thinking about using it in place of my SP101. It just has a nice feel and great balance.

Really? I constantly see 4 inch and 6 inch in Stainless...but never 3 inch in Blue. I'm definitely living in the wrong state.

i have a 3" in stainless and absolutely love it -- it's pretty much my go-to house gun. it's a bit on the heavy side for concealed carry, but i'd have no trouble trusting my life to it. with how accurate my 3" gp100 is i'd definitely like to get another... they're just that great. i've personally never seen a blued 3" gp100 in person, but it looks pretty nice ;) perhaps i'll have to keep my eye out.

one thing i really like on the 3" is the slightly smaller, rounded grip compared to the larger, squared grips on the 4" & 6" gp100's. i have larger hands but i think the smaller grips on the 3" feel wonderful. i've said it before in a couple posts, but one thing i REALLY wish was an option was a crimson trace grip in the shape/size of the 3" grip instead of the big honkin' size of the larger gp100/superredhawk that they offer now.

if you don't mind, what general ballpark price did you find it for? and please do let us know how well it shoots for ya...

I seldom see 3" GP-100's. They sell quickly. I bought one five years or so ago due to recommendations on the fourms. Folks speak very highly of them. I tend to agree. I use it as my primary home defense handgun.

Thanks blutarsky. I appreciate the info. I picked this one up for $299. The thing is I probably visit the local shops at least one time per week. I rarely find what I consider a deal. I thought $299 was too good to pass up...I said I'll take it, and the salesman says "oh and it has the box too, cool". Maybe I got lucky. I put 50 rounds through it immediately following purchase (and before cleaning). It shot really nicely. I said it in my original post, but there is just something about the way it fits in my hand and balances. I also have a 6" stainless model that I really like.
