Hello everyone. I've been looking a the GP-100 for the past few months. I've been able to find a stainless one with a five inch barrel, but I've not been able to find a blued one with a five inch barrel. Does anyone know if Ruger even makes a blued five inch GP-100? If so, where can I find one? Many thanks in advance!

The stainless 5" is an exclusive built for Davidsons. There isn't any blued 5" in production that I am aware of.

Where did you find that 5"?

You don't want stainless, they shoot crooked. I'll buy it and shoot it at my crooked targets.

i've never laid eyes on a blued 5 inch and don't believe they were ever produced that way. there were plenty of stainless 5 inch on gun broker last i checked.

As I recall, the last run of 5" exclusives was about 5 years ago. I haven't seen any for a while, but I haven't really been looking for one either.

Wasn't the "Royal Phoenix" version from a few years ago 5 inch blued GP?

Never mind, that was 4"

I love the 5 in barrel too. Why I ended up going with a 5 in SW 627 PC.

Just found one on Gunbroker with a buy it now price of $600. In fact seems likes there"s quite a few of them for sale. Always liked the idea of a 5" barrel on a .357 (have often dreamed of getting a 5" S&W Model 27), so this GP-100 would be a more affordable way to go.

If you look up an old copy of Shooting Times, Skeeter Skelton had an article on his ".357 Dream Gun". That Ruger GP-100 is almost exactly what he dreamed up back about 30 or so years ago, combining the best of several .357 revolvers and makes at the time.

A guy in my hunting club has one of the 5" stainless GPs and he absolutely loves it.
I think it looks a little better than my 4" GP.
