Looking to buy a Ruger GP 100. Gun is 357 Magnum, Stainless Steel, 3 inch Barrel. It is a used gun but in very good condition. Do you think this weapon is worth $300.00? Thanks in Advance, Dwain

Hi Dwain. $300 is getting toward the top end of GP prices used. The 3" GP is not a very common gun though, and if you know who has it that helps too. On the other hand a GP is big and heavy, would make a poor carry gun IMO as long as I could get a K-frame Smith. If you like it I say pay the $300 as long as that is 'out the door' price. With a GP you are GUARANTEED to have an extremely strong gun and one that typically is silly accurate. I have seen SEVERAL go under 3" at ONE HUNDRED yards!!

I would probably give $300 for a blued 6" in as new condition but long range accuracy is the only reason I would consider a GP personally.

I bought a new 4" stainless a few months ago for $400, which was the best price you could get around here at the time. I have noticed since that local prices are creeping up to $410 to $425.

Based on that, $300 for a gun in nice condition is probably not too bad.

I say if you want it, buy it, and don't look back on the price. It's likely going to last forever anyway. In a few years, the $300 will sound like a pittance.

I've been trying to get a local pawn shop to let one of those go for $300. He's stuck on $325. It's worth it if it's in good conditon.
There are a lot of the Century Arms (CAI) GP-100s, Canadian reimports, coming back in country. They are 3 inch DA/SA or 4 inch DAOs. A lot of the good ones have been snapped up already. Get em while you can. I'd pay $300 in a heart beat.

Paid $300 about a year ago for a 4inch full lug 357 GP100 in tremendous condition. Never regretted it and don't expect to, have put a ton of ammo through it and its as good as the day I got it. Trigger pull is actually gettin' better.
