What do you think? I could see the 38-40 as a good cartridge for CAS shooters especially. Vaqueros in 38-40 for CAS and a GP-100 in the HD, CCW and GP uses. The 40 S&W would probably need to be built only as a 40. The advantages would be having shared ammunition for your "other" semi-autos. Ruger might even see a reason to make 40 S&W P series. The 41 Magnum is a good all around cartridge. CCW, hunting, target, HD and any other needs. 3", 6" and 8" would be nice for barrel lengths. Factory drilled and tapped would be a bonus.

I know Ruger lists a P series in 40. I have yet to see one though. Imagine though, a semi-auto and a wheelgun both from Ruger. I would buy a 41 Magnum in 6" form myself.

As the 38-40 is a bottlenosed and the .40SW is a straight walled cartridge they would need seperate cylinders. Something not easily done with a DA revolver. It would work fine with the Blackhawk, but I doubt the shooters who would use the 38-40 would have much use for the .40SW cylinder.
The Gp in .41mag would probably have to be a 5 shooter to keep living up to the Ruger's name for strength. I can't see them doing that much tooling up for the relatively few .41mag handguns sold each year by all the manufactors.

Would be a great .41 Mag! Almost like a mountain gun.

I'll take a .41 Mag. Who do I give the money to? I'm ready right now, I'll also take one of those neat new .41 Magnum Redhawks with the 5 inch barrel and target grey finish.

Oh yeah, this isn't the real world and these guns don't exist. :uhoh:

Nightcrawler, just a timid question....

How much to rework and convert the GP100 to 10mm? I've always figured there wouldn't be room for the holes at that diameter.
