To remove your front sight – make sure your gun is unloaded
From the muzzle end of the barrel there is a pin above the bore, push in on this pin with a small screwdriver or punch and pull up on your front sight. Your sight should lift right out when the pin is pushed in.

I put a fiber optic front sight on my GP100. Mine is made by Marble's. Midway has them. They are listed under Marble's Ruger Super Redhawk fiber optic front sight .332. They work great on a GP100. You can sure see them better than the factory sight. Here is a link to Midway –

I like the green best.

I replaced the front sight on my GP100 with a Millett with the bright orange bar. Fits just fine and works beautifully. Installation took about 30 seconds.

Ruger did or does have a set of four interchangeable sights that go on a Redhawk or GP100 that are a very bright almost flourecent color, you get yellow, orange, blue and white I think.

I have the blaze orange ramp from Millet on a Security Six and it is nice.

There are several interesting options, as this thread shows.

Bear in mind that you can also order from Ruger the factory orange-insert front sight (the same one that comes stock on the Super Redhawk) and install it on your GP100. It goes in just like the regular black GP100 front sight; see the instructions posted above.

My GP wears one of these; I prefer it to the standard sight.

How does the pin come back out?

After you push the pin in and remove the old front sight, how does the pin come back out to hold the new sight in? Is it spring loaded? I just bought one of the sights from Midway and the install instruction weren't very good. They were talking about drilling and grinding. I don't want to do that to my new gun.

Thanks
