Ruger K77 Compact Questions

I'm getting interested in the compact Ruger K77 308. Has a 16.5 inch barrel. What kind of loss of accuracy and velocity would you expect from such a short barreled weapon? Anyone have any experience with one?

IMO (not experience), there would be considerable muzzle flash.

I looked at one (in .243) and decided the barrel was just too light. If you aren't concerned about follow-up shots, it might be accurate enough with a cold bore...

I went with the VT model, even though it weighs considerably more.

Maybe someone has used one? Sorry I can't help more.
