Yes on the WWB 380 flat nose.
They will go far if your aim is true.
Both of my LCP's eat em up.

I shoot russian hardball in my LCP.It kicks harder than the American stuff.Must be more powerful.

After doing a little research I decided that FMJ was best for a short barreled 380 pistol.

I don't believe that the 380 Auto hollow-point ammo provides enough penetration.

Right now my LCP is loaded with Blazer Brass 95g FMJ.

In every case I saw where the round was a fmj the victim died on the spot.

On a show about a homicide department, they feature victims who died. You don't say. :scrutiny: Edit: To clarify, I wouldn't expect a show about homicide to feature all the victims who had been shot by FMJ, or anything else for that matter, and survived.

_________

Would you choose the FMJ or Critical Defense which is suppose to open up and expand through layers of clothing? I would think if I chose FMJ it should be a fairly hot load maybe just below +P. So, if you were to choose FMJ, what quality load would you trust your life with?

Currently just regular Blazer Brass FMJ for me, for the simple reason that it feeds and shoots without issues. Since there is not a universal standard in the shooting world for what constitutes +P .380, it may be difficult to determine what's just below it. Ruger also advises against the use of any ammunition claiming the ambiguous +P designation in the caliber.

Because Ruger advises against +P I opted to not use it in the LCP along with the additional recoil (follow up shot) issues.

I use Buffalo Bore 100gr hard cast lead, standard pressure in my lcp
we both handle it well..

I don't have the LCP but have the TCP so basically the same. I plan on staggering my rounds with FMJs and HPs. If I ever have to use it, the attacker is getting the whole magazine so I think it should do the trick. I've only shot FMJs through it so far and no hiccups.

Your sarcasm is noted.

Give me my 102 gr. Remington GS'. I have seen some decent test results with it, plus I like the little bit of extra weight it carries. Feeds well too.

FMJ for me the S&B ammo runs fine in my P3AT, and that's what I keep it loaded with. I'll take the penetration of the FMJ ammo from a short barreled .380 over a little possible expansion

I think this is the right answer. I'm trying to find an old article by Mas Ayoob that makes this same point. It was written during the .32 auto craze, started when beretta came out with the tomcat, a much more affordable option to the seecamp, and he lumped the .380 into the same category as the .32 with regard to lacking sufficient velocity from a mouse gun to have any beneficial expansion.

Defensive ammo has certainly evolved since then, but I still favor FMJ's for my LCP. I just don't trust HP's from such a short tube on potentially clothed attackers. Add the better reliability of ball, and that is what I run.
