I made a Chapter Two Ruger LCP review video after having some problems with fail-to-extract on it, ran more ammo through it, different ammo, and took it out to longer ranges. Here are the results. Not a single FTE using Winchester White Box .380 Auto. Over 100 rounds worth shot.

Plus, I was surprised at how well it did even at what I consider to be a nearly nutty distance in any realistic SD scenario: 25 yards. I was putting rounds on a six inch target and definitely within 12" center mass area.

Which ammo have you guys found to be the most consistently reliable in the LCP?

Also, a guy suggested I use some sight paint and touch up my front post with bright red, rear with white. Your thoughts?

The American Eagle FMJs produced no stoppages in over 300 rounds fired. It was hard on hand I had to trade hands every few magazines worth just to get through 100 rounds at the range. The gun worked well for me against Dixie plates up to about 10 yards w/o any sight modification. The only two complaints I had against the piece was that slide did not stay open after last shot from magazine and carbon steel frame oxidized easily.

I'll have to try some of that. You are right about it being hard on the hand, when you shoot a lot of rounds through it. I did not reaiize that until the morning after I had shot it over 250 times. I woke up with a sore right hand and didn't put 2+2 together until I put another 100 through it the next day. Each shot was pretty painful.

These are definitely not range guns!!

I just happen to own two LCP's,one for a year now and the other a very recent purchase just because these are such great and well made little pistols I just wanted to have a second one in the event the original was stolen,confiscated due to a legal shoot,breakeage(unlikely),etc.
That being said my original that I carry even more than my PM9 has never failed in anyway using a lot of different fmj and hollow point ammo.
My second one only has 72 rounds thru it and stove piped a Gold Dot casing but this was the last round I fired of the 72 rounds and I had just put my brothers new LCP thru the same 72 round barrage moments before using the same sequence of fmj's and hollow points so in all honesty it was probably my tired hand that caused the stove pipe rather than the pistol.
The ammo I have used in my original in FMJ are S&B,WWB,92 grain WWB that are non flat top,UMC,Privi Partisan,PMC,and Mag-Tech.
Hollow Points used so far have been Gold Dots,Rem. Golden Sabers,and Hornady Critical Defense.
100% on all these tested ammo brands.

I'm looking to get one of these little pistolas, reviews have been positive, but I'm concerned about corrosion and the previous poster mentioned this as well. Anyone else have any problems with oxidation?

Not a bit.
I use CLP and break the pistol down monthly to reoil the slides and blow out pocket lint and lightly go over the outside metal with the same lube and mine is carried practically daily in a leather pocket holster.
Zero rust or oxidation.

Just got back from the firing range after firing my new LC9. I was a bit concerned after reading all the posts about firing and ejecting problems, not to mention a lot of other complaints about all sorts of things.

I had no problems today with 50 rounds of PMC, 115gr, FMJ ammo.

Reports of accuracy problems concerned me a little, but for a SD gun it was not a major issue. I could shoot 4.5" five-shot groups at 30 feet with no problem; that was with the factory sights. Recovering the sight picture is fast, even with the snappy recoil. Anyway, the gun has to be way more accurate than that because I am 70 years old, with not the best eyesight, and I'm not a range rat, I only shoot about four times a year which turns out to be around 400 rounds per year.

The long trigger pull takes some getting used to, but I like it since it will be a pocket gun for me. It is nice and smooth with a crisp break.

The grip is not bad for me at 6'2 and 200 lbs with large hands; love the pinky extension on the mag.

I don't like the mag safety that prevents the gun from firing without the mag inserted, it just seems like a dumb idea to me, but I can live with it, I don't usually shoot a gun with no mag in it. More cost and more parts to fail.

It is a fun gun to shoot. Personally, I would not want to shoot over 50 rounds per range visit; it does have some recoil that would take some getting used to, or it may have something to do with the checkering on the grips.

Joystick, are you describing the LC9, or the LCP?

The LCP will shoot with the mag out and a round in the chamber.

The LC9. I like the LCP but I wanted a 9mm and a little bigger gun to fit my hands.

LC9...I'm a lefty and manipulating the safety would be a drag, plus I wish it didn't have the magazine disconnect or the key safety and lastly the chamber loaded indicator. The LCP will be my next purchase, I've handled one at the shop and think it will be a dandy little piece. Had two 3ATs before and this refined version of that gun looks like a winner. I'm psyched!!

I use cheap, factory (mostly white box but also other brands) FMJ ammunition in my LCP and it hasn't stuttered yet.

Try using the epoxy paint made for jig heads used in fishing. It's very durable and comes with a whole palette of colors (I happen to prefer florescent green). You can find the stuff at any sporting goods store (Gander Mountain, Cabelas or Bass Pro shops stock it).

Note: I also have found your videos to be interesting and informative.
