Hi All,

I took my new LCP .380 out this past weekend for the first time. See the attached pics. [Edit: pics removed].

I had read that 102gr Golden Sabers are somewhat likely to keyhole in some 380 guns, and figured that perhaps this LCP was one such gun, but then I saw this review (http://www.realguns.com/articles/379.htm) where the LCP shot the 102gr Sabers without keyholes.

So, it seems that the LCP should shoot 102gr Sabers without keyholes - and it would seem that I should contact Ruger... but first I wanted to hear what other people's experiences were with the LCP and the 102gr Golden Sabers.

[Edit: Thanks to all who replied! I now see how the 102gr HP rounds were going through straight, just a lot slower than the other 95gr FMJs, and the low speed helped caused odd paper tearing but not keyholing.]

Thanks!

Doesn't really look like keyholing to me... more like tearing. YOu can see a clear circle where the nose went through. IMO Maybe the lower velocity makes it cut dirtier holes.

I agree. Not a keyhole look. Faster rounds will cut the hole you see in the right picture. The left is just the way that round will look through paper.
