Ruger LCP = Kel-Tec?

The new Ruger LCP looks an awful like a Kel-Tec. Did they work out a deal and merge or did Ruger just steal the design of the Kel-Tec?

Do a search. Seriously any new gun that comes from a major manufacturer is gonna have a ton of threads about it.

No merger. They did not steal the design because it's free for anyone to use.

The annual report I received from Ruger two days ago said nothing of acquisition of Kel-Tec, Kahr or anyone else. Most folks don't realize that, financially, Ruger is NOT a large corporation. Certainly, it's not miniscule, but it's hardly a twitch on the NYSE. "Recreational companies" like Harley-Davidson are much larger!

I'm sure some design elements were inspired by the KT, but that does not make them =.
