Ruger LCP vs Bersa Thunder Concealed Carry

I own a Kel Tec P-3AT. It is not fun to shoot. It was a jam o matic when I got it. After 5 months of shipping it back and forth Kel Tec finally got it shooting right. It has broke twice since then and it requires a lot of maintenance. The recoil springs and rod are only good for 500 rounds. The takedown pin broke on my Kel Tec.

I can shoot the Kel Tec very well right now but it took a year of plinking to used to the cut down sights on the Kel Tec. You might have the same experience with the Ruger. The upside is very few SD encounters happen at 25 yards. Most SD situations are close range affairs at ranges of less than 10 yards.
Yea, I might be ignorant, but in a SD situation involving close quarter encounters with someone else with a gun or knife, I really do not think sites or trigger pull matter with pocket pistols. People act as if they'll have time to aim, look through the sites, and take precision shots while being shot at.

Praxidike, another difference between your gun and mine (PF9) is that yours is a "true" DAO, meaning the hammer is fully at rest between slide-cycles. That also means the P11 has "re-strike" capability, while the PF9, with its partially-set hammer, does not. The trade-off, as you noticed, is the longer trigger pull.

You're probably not really ignorant, but you do know they're called "sights", right? :D

Did you choose you pf9 over the p11?

Lol yea I know, but if someone is shooting at me, I'm not going to waste time trying to look through those small sights before i start shooting back. I'm going to be firing at them while trying to get to cover, safety, or a bigger gun. I've never seen a real life captured video were a firearm owner who was suddenly attacked and under fire actually used their sites.

Prax, I actually bought the PF9 on a whim. I was in a LGS looking at ammo, and saw the PF9 for a good price, I was amazed at its light weight, slim profile, and feel, so I took it home.

My previous EDC was a well-serving Bersa Thunder in .380.
