I just bought one of these.Neat gun.It has a great trigger from the factory.Feels good in the hand too,
Does anyone know how Ruger installs the barrel in these? It looks like it is held in buy a button underneath the barrel. Is it easy to remove?

Love mine, haven't really looked at the barrel. Did you see where you have to take the grip off to oil it once in a while.

We have the .38 +P version of this gun and love it....no idea how to get the barrel off. I have no idea how anyone could shoot .357 mag out of a polymer framed revolver like this.

Even fairly moderate .38 Special hand loads with 158 gr. lead stings me...factory .38 Special +P is downright painful. I cannot image full house .357magnum out of this particular revolver.

But it hides well and the trigger and general ergonomics/accuracy are top end. I love mine - I'm just a little afraid of it. :what:

VooDoo

I bought the .357 version because it gives me the option of shooting both .38 and .357.I've been shooting a stainless .357 SP101 for 20 years. The LCR is going to be interesting to shoot.

I didn't bother to check, but I believe what looks like the barrel is really part of the frame. Then inside of this is a tube-like liner. Most likely it is not supposed to be removed, except maybe at the factory. Before doing anything you'd better look at an exploded-view drawing.

when me and the boys are feeling are oats so to speak we start firing off cylinders of the 125 grain jhp 357 mag load it only takes a couple to realize this is going to hurt

I've had my LCR357 for a little over Three years. For the first Two years I shot nothing but 357 ammo. Some was full house loads. Most of it was mid range. At this point with the onset of Artharitis I only shoot midrange 357 and 38+P. The Hogue Tamer Grips and 4 oz. Heavier than the 38 helps a lot.

horsemen61 I don't think I could shoot fully loaded for more than 20 rounds. The Blazers fired nice, but I didn't like the aluminum cases, I have some German rounds right now that really kick. Usually I'll fire off 50 rounds of my reloads in a 357 case, then 20 rounds of the factory loads.
