Ruger M77 trigger adjustable?

I was in another thread and someone mentioned that the trigger on a Ruger M77 is adjustable. is this true? If so can someone provide me with information on how to adjust it I would greatly appreciate it.

The trigger isn't adjustable, although a couple people have talked about improving it with polishing.

I'd highly recommend the Timney trigger. It's better in every way than the factory trigger and very easy to install.

edit: I should have specified that I was talking about the MK II (3 position safety)

My Ruger M77 tang safety .243 varmint rifle has a factory adjustable trigger. It adjusts with a scew inside the trigger guard.

Go to midwayusa.com or brownells.com and search for "ruger trigger". Both places sell aftermarket replacement triggers for the M77.

The trigger weight on my Mk II .243 rifle is the only complaint I have with the rifle. It still shoots 1-MOA with factory Hornady and Winchester ammo from a rest. But I occasionally think I should pony up for a Timney or Rifle Basix trigger.

I believe paying for a drop-in trigger job would cost me about the same as having a good gunsmith do something with the factory components.

I dont understand the part where it says tang saftey? my saftey is a slide type just down and back from the rear of the bolt. does this trigger change my saftey setup?

Has anyone used this trigger?

I was on Ruger's site and I found out that my M77 was made in 1986

yep, that's the "tang" safety

I couldn't install the Timney trigger myself in my M77, so I sent it back.

BTW, that link I sent you is for way more than just a simple adjustment. But the M77 "tang" trigger should be adjustable with that screw that's inside the trigger guard.

Alll the usual warnings, release of liabilities, etc. apply of course...
