Ruger MII grips on a MI?

Like to put some grips by Esmeralda on, they only list for MII, they look alike.

Anybody put MII on a MI, (circa ~1980-81)

Tom the screw hole pattern is the same and the grips will fit. Your only concerns are to fill the area where the Mark II hammer pivot pin sits in the left grip panel. The Mark I uses the grips to hold the pivot pin in place but the Mark II has a wide headed pivot pin that uses only the left panel to keep it secured. That space is big enough for the Mark I's hammer pivot pin to walk left. Hogue grips provide a plastic spacer with them to fill up the pivot pin area and the space where the bolt stop lever would sit.
