Ruger Mini14

I have a Mini14 Ranch Rifle stamped 223. Rifle made in 2007, by serial number. I don't have the rifle as it is in storage. My question, can I fire 5.56 in this rifle?

ALL .223 Mini's can shoot 5.56 except the Target model

Yes. It should be fine. Any Mini made after 2007 should be fine with 5.56 military rounds.

Won't 5.56 accelerate bore wear compared to .223?

In small doses, maybe the difference is moderate.

Increased pressure and velocity will always increase ware.....I doubt it would be enough that it would ever really mater.

5.56 CAN be loaded to higher pressures. That doesn't mean all, or even most of it is. Not an issue.
