OK! All my permits are in order and I am ready to buy a .22 (and a higher caliber handgun too, but that is a different post.) I hear lots of good things about Rugers, so I went to all the local gun stores to take a look, and there were several for sale. I can get the "standard" Ruger Mk. III for $220, a Ruger Mk. II for $360, a Ruger Mk. III Target for $250, and I also saw a Ruger Mk. III Hunter for sale too but I can't recall the price at the moment (I think it was about $300.) Out of these I am leaning most heavily towards the Mk. III Target because I get the adjustable sights for only $30 more and it also has a grip more like a 1911 (which I am sure I will also get one day.) I know the Mk. II's are supposed to be better but I am not happy about paying 50% more for one of them, and I think the Mk. III will be good enough for a beginner. Does anyone have any experience with the Mk. III target? Would you recommend it? Are the adjustable sights and different grip worth $30 more?
