Ruger MK III vs Buckmark

Ok ok... which one should I be looking at? Please discuss your favorite variants.
The Ruger MK III is obviously inferior to earlier models because of excessive lawyer input, but that's what they are selling new... so lets leave the MK Is and IIs out of the discussion. I'm only interested in a new one.

I personally like the way the Buckmark feels in my hand better, but I'm not too excited about some of the plastic parts. I feel like maybe the Ruger is a better heirloom, but the Buckmark is more of a pleasure to shoot. But I haven't had much range time with the MK III.

De-lawyering the MK.III is a fairly simple and worth-while affair, and pretty much completely negates any advantage the earlier models had over the Mk. III. I have a great love of the Ruger.
I am very leery of plastic parts, which is why I'm wary of getting, say, a S&W 22S or (now) a Browning Buckmark. But the feeling the gun evokes for you is much more important, I think. Get whichever moves you.

Get whatever is best for you to shoot, in your case it is the Buckmark.

As for 'heirloom', whatever gun you truly enjoyed shooting will have the most sentimental value to loved ones.

They're both good pistols.

I have both a Ruger Mk III 22/45 which I like fine, and a Buckmark Standard URX which I like better. They're both tedious to field strip, both reliable and well-built, cost about the same, but the URX grip ergos are incredible, and the Buckmark is slightly more accurate (for me.)

If you're looking at a Buckmark and it's got plastic, it might be a Camper. I would spring for a Buckmark Standard URX or a Hunter. These are great guns made to last. Plus if you're anti-plastic, the Buckmark's frame is aluminum and the Ruger's is plastic...

The Ruger 22/45 has a plastic frame, the standard Mk III models do not.

That said, I personally would rather have a Buckmark.

How do you go about that? Do you know of any pictures on the Internet with the info? (I don't have a MKIII, so I've not even seen the internals.

I've bought 5 NIB MKII's in the past 10 months. They are all over Gunbroker.com, GunsAmerica.com, and AuctionArms.com, and you can find them NIB at most every gun show as well.

I reccommend Mark III. It has many aftermarket parts available, for example, VQ sear and VQ target trigger.
