I need a threaded upper for my mk2. Dony want a 22/45 frame, so the ruger lite is out. As far as i can tell there are inly 3 games in town: tacsol, volquartsen, and Oregon precision. OP is too expensive. So I'm left with going paclite or VQ for my upper. I like the price and look of the paclite better, but the aluminum breech face gives me pause. I have seen some internet reports showing damage caused by the steel bolt slamming into the aluminum barrel, but most people don't seem to have any complaints. Do you think it would be a problem? Remember, I can buy 2 tacsol uppers for the price of a VQ.

I've got a PacLite with only about 10K rounds on it so far, but it's shown zero damage or mechanical/fitment issues whatsoever.

Aside from getting modestly screwed by TacSol on the sale (they claimed, post order, that the gloss black standard color that they sold to my dealer was really a custom color and charged my dealer, and hence me, a custom fee for it), I've been happy with the upper for use on my casual range beater Mk1.

Don't have a TacSol upper for a Ruger Mk.II but I do have their .22 conversion assembly for a 1911. First rate quality throughout, both in the materials they use with it's construction and in it's overall fit and finish.

Great customer service too. I had a problem with a jam where a piece of a .22 case rim got wedged in between the chamber and the slide. Because of this I couldn't get the slide off the frame. I emailed TacSol and they promptly responded with a few ideas of what the problem might be along with some possible solutions and after working on it for awhile I finally got it disassembled. It was good to know that they got back to me so quickly and that they were very helpful through the whole process.

If I were in the market for a Mk.II upper (or a .22 conversion for my Glock 17), I would definitely give them a try.

I thought about having it threaded, but its a stainless gov target model and I hate to chop into that. I can get a tacsol upper for 200, and threading isn't much less than that.
