I have a new (at least to me, 2001) MKII target. I would like to mount some type of optics on it (other than a scope) any suggestions would be greatly appricisated....I'm just gonna plink!

Are there any more affordable red dots that are reliable on a mkII/mkIII?
I don't want to break the budget on a range plinker, and I wouldn't think that a Ruger .22 would need the most rugged optic, due to the low recoil and mounting an optic on the upper, which is fairly fixed.

Burris Fast Fire two

It is small, rugged and works fine for everything except Bullseye.

Sight and mount should set you back about $230.00

I have one on a M-41 S&W to shoot Steel Challange stuff with. Its lots of fun.

One thing on buying a nice scope, is you only have to buy it once.

With the cost of ammo and lack of range time. A better scope is a good thing.

Lol, my range is my backyard, I'm in kinda of in a rural area....But I hear ya... still $230 is almost more than I paid for the gun....can we step it down a notch?....Just asking....All of your advice is being thought about.

I have a Bushnell Trophy Red Dot on my Target MKIII. Once I finally got the screws tightened down I loved it. For 99.00 it was worth every penny and helped improve my accuracy quite a bit.
