the cylinder pin comes out, tried stretching the cross pin spring but same thing happens, the gun is 6 mo old normally shoot 240 grain hollow points

You might look into a Belt Mountain base pin.

They have base pins fitted with a small allen screw which tightens to prevent movement of the base pin.

Humm, I have two Blackhawks--the cyl. pin has a notch in it that engages the pin release button, the button has to be pushed in before the pin can be removed.
Are you saying that the release button is not holding the pin in place?
I just got a new .44 mag SBH Bisley, can't understand how this is happening.

gunguy, you probably have burrs in the hole on the frame where the base pin latch goes. the burrs will prevent the latch from fully seating in that hole. the fix is to remove the burrs. if you want to tackle it, use a small round file and/or emory cloth. be careful, though. that area of the frame is difficult to get to without marring up the frame finish.

suggest you get the belt mountain pin, regardless. have em in all my ruger SAs. fwiw

went to my local gun smith and he recommended a stronger spring for the cross pin, but also thought it was weird it was doing this
