With a Redfield Five Star 6-18x scope. Bought it on Saturday, shot it on Sunday. I haven't yet taken it to a place where it can be exercised properly, but my impression is that this will prove to be fun. I don't have a real need for it, but I fell in love with it as it calmly rested on the wall of the gun store.

Should say 1-B, but I like it enough so that ! expresses my feelings.

Every pic of a Number 1 makes me wish I didnt like reloading equipment more than shooting :) Cant ever seem to save up enough for both. I dont even care what caliber it is, they just look so good.

PS. Mind telling us how much that set ya back?

Not at all. $600 for rifle with scope. Barrel appears sharp. A little wear on the scope--I think perhaps from ejected brass.

A thing for single shots

I've always had a thing for single shots and the Rugers are among my list of favorite wishes. Never owned one yet, but I can't help but to keep talking myself into it. Everyone I know who has owned, shot, borrowed, etc. a No.1 has always had VERY good things to say.

I'd say you got a good deal on a great rifle!!

My Father has recently gotten back into Ruger No. 1's. In the past month or so he's picked up a .300 H&H Mag., a 7x57mm, and, last week, a 45-70. I'm hoping that next Spring we'll be taking them to the range and putting them thru their paces. The Old Man and I have always had a love of these single shots - I'm ecstatic that he's gotten off his butt and started buying some LOL!!! I'll try to grab some pics when I'm over there later this week.

Shoot it, enjoy it!

Regards - Ed (big #1 fan....)
