I'm thinking about buying a P89 with the fifteen round mag.
I used to have a P94 and loved it except for one thing-it had the annoying habit of ejecting spent brass back into my face.

My question is this: Are there any P89 owners out there who have had a problem with brass flying back at them? Yes, I tried replacing the extractor on my P94, it didn't help.

Every auto I've shot has have this problem to some degree. Some are just much worse then others about it. Wear a baseball cap when you shoot.

I have a p89 and haven't had any problems with getting hit with brass. It is a great pistol and never jams.

I was at the range last month, and had brass hit me in the forehead,(once) but that was the only time. it is a great gun, absolutely reliable. :)

I bought an early P89 and it functioned flawlessly. Accuracy was only so-so with some loads but it was an easy pistol to shoot. It was the only one of my pistols that my ex-wife could retract the slide on and she loved it too. So much in fact that she grabbed it during the "equal division of property."

Da*n, I miss that Ruger!

I've got almost 2000 rounds through my 89, and the only time i've been hit at all with an extracted shell casing is when they bounce off the wall of my stall at the range. Its a great gun... looks great, shoots better....

I used to have a Glock 17 that does that. Last time it did, it burnt a few of my eyelashes! it managed to get inside my shooting glasses. :cuss: I got rid of it the very next day.

BTT,
My used to be P89 never did that to me.
