I am confused about a new (used) P90 I just bought. Am I correct in that the slide is steel and the frame is aluminum?

The gun has some serious externel wear (it is the blued model) and I'd like to fix it up a little without breaking the bank. Almost everyone is recommending against any coating (nickle, teflon, etc.). So, what would you recommend to fix the worn bluing and scratches (surficial scratches only)? I know cold blue can be used for touch up, but does that work on aluminum?

Any ideas? Maybe spray paint?

Slide is steel

frame is some kind of alloy, but I don't think aluminum.

Yes, the frame is anodized aluminum alloy.
You asked the same question 2 days ago on this thread(Ruger P90 question.), and were answered.. YES.
To fix the bluing, would require the process of Rebluing. (Maybe $100-$150) As far as touching up the aluminum frame, thats a good question and I'm not sure .. but I certainly wouldn't advise spray paint.
The P90 though is a shooter, not really a collectors piece. My real advice would just be to use it, enjoy it, and let get it's natural wear that it's going to get anyway unless you plan on keeping it as a safe queen.
