What would cause a P-94 not to lock the slide back on the last round ? I have tried two different magazines. I unloaded the gun and put in an empty mag and the slide locks back just fine manually this way. One thing I noticed is that it's slide stop is more stiffer than my other well-used P-94 . I'm thinking I may need to degrease , clean and oil it in that area . Any other suggestion ?
Any help is appreciated

Clean & oil can never hurt, so do that.

While you have the slide off doing it?
Put the empty mags in the frame, look inside the mag well, and see what it is or is not doing right.

An empty mag should positively push the slide stop up when inserted in the mag well.

Replace the springs. You are shooting a 20 +/- year old gun.

I ran into this same problem along with light primer strikes with my P-89 a couple of years ago. I replaced all of the springs (recoil, firing pin and mainspring) with a kit from Wolff and all of the problems went away. The only thing that gave me trouble was disassembling the slide for the firing pin spring.

When I put in an emty mag the slide locks open just fine and normal.
I just seem to be having a brain fart as to what is causing this .

Possibly weak mag spring. Works fine when manually operated, but not able to lift the follower fast enough to activate the slide stop in use.

Stretch one mag spring and see if it works.

If it does, you need new mag springs.

Stretching them is only a tempory fix, as they will quickly get weaker then they already were after you stretch one.

Here's an update. I am away at ork but just relaized that I was shooting my "super light reloads" in 9mm. I wonder if this could have caused it too ?
When I get home I'll try some regular factory strength 9mm

Update: It's all fine now

UPDATE : I got home and shot some regular power 9mm loads through it and it locks back just fine ! The reloads that I made that were very lightly loaded were just so soft that they cycled the gun but not far enough rearward to lock the slide.
I'm happy again ! Just goes to show you how well these P-series guns work. Even with light loads they still function enough to cycle and feed.
Thanks everyone for the help !
