hello
i have recently purchased a blued ruger p95 for about 336 dollars at the local gun store and have only shot it a handful of times. i was just wondering what kind of groups you could expect at 25 yards off a rest with fmj ammunition.
also, could a ruger p95 compete with a glock or sig in terms of accuracy at the above distances.
thanks

Mine was not super, but adequate. It would group most ammo into 3" at 25 yards benched. My P85 is about the same. Triggers on these guns are not superb, but adequate. For the price, though, the P95 is a totally, 100 percent reliable handgun with about anything you feed it and it's a high cap gun that is fairly light for belt carry or IWB and fairly compact for a double stacker. I think it's a really GREAT buy for a working gun, but it's no target gun. I did use mine for IDPA quite a bit, though, and did well with it shooting expert stock gun. The trigger is better on my P90, very good in fact, and accuracy is target quality on that gun, but I had problems with reloading it that the tapered mag of the P95 helped with. Reloads cost me time with the P90 that i couldn't make up with the accuracy and i don't care for Glocks (the IDPA standard) as I don't carry safe action guns and won't compete with them, either.

Anyway, the P85 will work fine for you if you're not shooting bullseye or something.

I get a tighter grouping with my P89 than I do with a G17, granted I rent the Glock. I believe you can achieve whatever accuracy you desire with the P95 through practice.

Good choice, btw. The P series are great guns.

My p95 can outshoot my glock 19. But I believe that has a lot to do with the double action trigger on the p95 and the lighter trigger pull that comes along with it compared to the g19

I owned one a few years ago and I could do 2" or better @ 25 yards slow fire from a rest. Just off-hand, regular shooting, I can do 3 to 5 inch groups slow fire @ 25 feet depending on the day.

My P95 is just as accurate as my Glock 19 and Beretta 92

It is a very good firearm and is one of the best bargains out there. It makes an excellent house gun or self defense pistol. I like mine as it shoots every thing I feed it with no problems.
