Recently, I purchased a ruger P95. It has a horrible problem with Failing to Eject the emptied casing and trying to force the next round into the chamber. I believe it is the extractor (if that is what it is called) on the slide that is failing to grasp the emptied cartridge. It does this about 4 to 5 times per magazine. Ive tried every brand of brass ammunition and still the same results. Any advise would be helpful. ThankYou

I have a friend with the same model. A gunsmith simply took it apart, cleaned it well, lubed it well, polished the throat - and. wa la!, no FTF's! Maybe it is not going to be that simple for you but give it a try.

We shot two week ago and he had NO problems what-so-ever.

Check that the extractor and breechface are clean. Load a dummy round or an empty cartridge into the chamber, then pull the slide back partway. The cartridge should be held tightly to the breechface all the way until the ejector kicks it out. If it drops out, or if you can shake it loose, there's a problem. It could be a bent or poorly fitting extractor.

Even if it appears to be held securely, the tension on the extractor could be too low due to a weak extractor spring.

You can also give the ejector (not extractor) a little polish on the point of contact to ensure the brass rebounds smoothly off it without upsetting the grip.

On one of my autos, I had the same FTE's. It's a really crappy malfunction to have, since tap-rack doesn't work. I also noticed that hand cycled rounds dribbled out the side, hitting my hand as they rolled out of the ejection port. After finding and correcting the extractor issues (using a Dremel to reshape the extractor and a shim for the extractor spring!), these rounds now leave dents on the wall clear across the room. And the FTE's went away.

I recently had the same issue with my P90. I called Ruger about the problem. They emailed a prepaid shipping label to me, so I could send the gun in for service. A new extractor fixed the FTE issue.

Take a toothbrush and really scrub the breech face, use Break Free CLP. Blast the extractor and that channel it has in the slide, shoot it with canned air inside and out. I mean really blast and clean it. Then try shooting it again.

Send it in to Ruger!
Mine did the same thing and I got told everything from: i was limp wristing it, to a bad extractor.
five other people had the same problem with it though and the extractor was changed three time without any luck.
Sent it in to ruger and they gutted it............they change the extractor, ejector and the recoil spring assembly.
Works fine now.;)

I took my P95 out today that I purchased around the same time as the OP and I was having the exact same problems, pluss Failure to Feed on top of it. I like to think I take pretty good care of my firearms, and this one is no exception. It looks to me like the bottom of the breach face has been rounded off a little bit, just enought to make it slip over the next cartridge. Also, it seems like my magazines aren't fitting the way they should be. They lock in and stay in, but there's a little bit of play in them, like they could lock in a little tighter or a little further in in the magwell. Other P95 owners notice the same thing?
