Recently I got my CCW so I decided to get reacquainted with the S&W 659 I bought new, put less than a box of ammo through it then put away for over two decades. I was going to get a Sigma to replace the older gun but was advised as long as weight wasn’t an issue the 659 was the better gun. Since then I’ve put a few boxes through it and just manage to hit all over the target. The front sight is machined out of the stainless slide and is hard for me to see and line up with the rear fixed sight. The trigger has a lot of travel and at times I thought the gun wasn’t going to fire. All my problems with this gun I figured was due to my inexperience with handguns in general and with time and practice I’d get use to it. Since then I came into a little extra money and decided to get another lower price auto. After a lot of research I decided to get a Ruger P95. Right out of the box this gun felt good. The three dot sights were easy to see and line up with the target. The trigger was smooth and effortless, firing when I instinctively thought it would. Instead of hitting all over the target I was keeping each clip in groups where I was aiming. I know I have a lot of range time ahead to become a decent shot but I couldn’t believe how much better the Ruger fits me.

Congrats on the P95. I've never owned one but it's one of those guns I've been considering for a long time. It's a proven design and drop dead reliable. Enjoy.

Yes, A fine pistol for the money, and ....

a 9mm that you can shoot hot loads in , as it is built like a tank. I like mine a lot. Enjoy shooting it.

Funny thing about the Rugers. I've shot a P89 for years and loved it because of how it fit my hand.

I introduced shooting to my very petite step-daughter and the gun she picked out was the P95. Go figure. Both are Ruger great!

The more I hear about the p95, the more I miss my p89.

If the 95 is anything like the 89, great value.

I've had 2 P95s. I still have one of them. I used them for plate shooting a few years ago. I put thousands of rounds of cheap steel case 9mm, and lead bullet reloads through both of them. Not the most accurate 9mms that I have ever owned, but definitely the most reliable. I won't be selling the P95 that I still have. It stays in my office as a home defense gun.
