Recently I got my CCW so I decided to get reacquainted with the S&W 659 I bought new, put less than a box of ammo through it then put away for over two decades. I was going to get a Sigma to replace the older gun but was advised as long as weight wasn’t an issue the 659 was the better gun. Since then I’ve put a few boxes through it and just manage to hit all over the target. The front sight is machined out of the stainless slide and is hard for me to see and line up with the rear fixed sight. The trigger has a lot of travel and at times I thought the gun wasn’t going to fire. All my problems with this gun I figured was due to my inexperience with handguns in general and with time and practice I’d get use to it. Since then I came into a little extra money and decided to get another lower price auto. After a lot of research I decided to get a Ruger P95. Right out of the box this gun felt good. The three dot sights were easy to see and line up with the target. The trigger was smooth and effortless, firing when I instinctively thought it would. Instead of hitting all over the target I was keeping each clip in groups where I was aiming. I know I have a lot of range time ahead to become a decent shot but I couldn’t believe how much better the Ruger fits me.
