Ruger Plants

Anyone know what firearms are made at each of Ruger's plants? I believe that they have plants in NH, CT and AZ

They have their headquarters in Southport, CT and manufacturing facilities in Newport, NH and PRescott, AZ.

I had thought that customer service was in AZ as well.

I'm curious what they make in each plant. I think that they make the centerfire pistols in AZ but I'm not sure. Ruger's website, www.ruger-firearms.com doesn't say

Before I moved to AZ, I'd visited the Prescott facility as a tourist. The lady working there just laughed at me and said they'd have to hire two full-time employees just to handle the folks like me that walked in daily with the same hope.

I thought to myself, "So, what would be WRONG with that!?"

Prescott AZ was set up to make their semi-automatic pistols. I think they moved the Mark II productions down there.

Southport CN used to have a factory but it's offices now.

Newport NH (Sunapee) makes the Ruger 77, Minis, O/U shotguns, 10/22, all DA & SA revolvers.

BTW, no factory tours under Bill Ruger's reign. You had to be FoB, Friend of Bill to be admitted onto the grounds.

I'm surprised that the manufacturers don't make tours available. Charge $5 or something and put a couple tour people on board. Maybe someone would volunteer to conduct tours. Also put a gift shop in the front and see how they do selling T shirts and such. Maybe even a pro shop where you could try their products like S&W's shooting sports center.

paying $5.00 for a tour isnt a bad deal...I would do it.

They're really neat if ya pick 'em after they are ripe, let 'em stay on the vine ya' know... till a Redhawk shoots a .50.... or pick 'em early and shoot .22's.

If they did tours, they'd have to let ya shoot something at the end... like at the Coors tour you get free beer.

Founder Bill Ruger is deceased. New Ruger in charge, Bill Jr. Perhaps he'll be more open to public visits?

S & W is open to tours as is Remington (unless they changed in the last few years). Both have gift shops at the end. At the S & W they allowed me to take one of their "tumbler" stones that they tumble their stainless guns in. I bought a S&W logo pin and snapped off the pin, epoxyed the log pin onto the stone as a momento of my trip. Somewhere in the house I have a quarter that is proofed with "SR" or Sturm Ruger.

General,

They serve beer at the end of a Coors tour? What brand do they serve, Sam Adams, Anchor Steam or a microbrew?

I always thought that most beers tasted watery.
